SEVENTEEN and rising K-pop acts earn new RIAJ certifications in Japan

The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) has revealed its latest certification updates, highlighting strong performances from several K-pop artists in the Japanese market.

SEVENTEEN reached a major milestone as their 2023 mini album SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN surpassed one million units shipped in Japan, earning an official Million certification.

Meanwhile, three newer-generation acts also made an impact. BOYNEXTDOOR received a Gold certification for their album HOME, while NEXZ achieved the same level with their Japanese EP Hellmate.

PLAVE also joined the list, with their mini album Caligo Pt.2 reaching Gold status in Japan.

Under RIAJ rules, Gold is awarded at 100,000 units shipped, Platinum at 250,000, and Million at 1,000,000, underlining the scale of SEVENTEEN’s achievement alongside the steady rise of newer groups.

For European fans, these results highlight Japan’s continued importance as a physical sales market and show how both established and emerging K-pop acts are expanding their global reach.
